Every site includes a Person schema block with the same @id URI. This is the anchor. Regardless of which domain a crawler or AI system lands on, it finds the same canonical entity identifier. The Person schema includes knowsAbout, hasCredential, performerIn, and critically, sameAs arrays that point to every other node in the network.
The sameAs property is the glue. It tells AI systems: "This person on this domain is the same entity as this person on that domain." Each page's Article schema includes an author property that references the canonical Person @id, plus a citation array that links to relevant pages across the network. This is not just a link. Organization Schema with Member Arrays
Organization schema on each site includes member or founder properties pointing to the Person entity, plus sameAs arrays connecting to the other organizational properties in the network. This reinforces the entity-to-organization relationship from both directions.

Schema is the machine-readable foundation. The content layer is what makes the network function for both humans and search engines.
Contextual Linking with Natural Anchor Text
Every cross-domain link in a DAN must exist within genuine contextual content. Not a blogroll. Not a footer link list. A paragraph that discusses the topic, references the linked resource naturally, and uses anchor text that describes the destination accurately.
The difference between link building and entity architecture lives here. Link building places links where they will pass authority. Entity architecture places links where they make contextual sense, because the AI systems evaluating them understand context. The Difference Between Link Building and Entity Architecture
This distinction is critical and frequently misunderstood.
Link building is about passing PageRank. The goal is to increase domain authority by accumulating inbound links from high-authority sites. The links exist to transfer ranking signals.
Entity architecture is about establishing verifiable identity across the web. The goal is to create a knowledge graph presence that AI systems can confirm through multiple independent sources. The links exist to verify entity claims.
